Artist: DJ Dreadnaut
Promoter, DJ, and committed environmental activist. London is the hub of world electronic music as far as he is concerned and having dipped his feet in all it's genres,
though particularly psychedelic trance, dub, and breakbeat, he first got the psy bug at the Fridge in Brixton around 1995 but was particularly inspired by the radical and
politically conscious parties of Fraser Clarke, including Megatripolis, The Warp Experience, and the Den of Enlightenment. These parties turned him on to radical campaigning
and ways of living, and the use of peak experiences at parties to help people make connections to each other and their higher selves.
From making connections at the Warp Experience
and other Drome parties in 1999 he got more involved in the underground party scene, promoting, painting backdrops, DJing, photographing, and spinning poi, particularly at the more
conscious end of the squat scene, which at that time were the Liquid Spiral parties, made up of the fledgeling Liquid Connective (now transformed to Liquid Records), ID Spiral (now
world-renowned chillout crew), Nagual Sound Experiment, and Indigenous People.
He also helped set up the Alliance and Natural Order parties (birthplace of Pukka music, Acid Monkey,
and Error Corrective), and legendary parties at the Bishops Avenue mansion, Butlers Wharf, and Michael's Vineyard. When these squats had run their course the natural progression was to
go legitimate with The Synergy Project, which he has been involved with since it's beginning in 2003, promoting, performing, and now co-ordinating the NGOs and campaigning. he also does
promotions for Liquid Dub, and helps out with Kalahari parties which raise money and awareness for the plight of the Kalahari Bushmen and tribal people in general.
It was here that he met
Youth, one of his musical heroes, and now he is proud to work for three of Youth's record labels, Dragonfly Records, Liquid Sound, and Kamaflage Records on new media promotions and A&R, as well
as being a label DJ, mostly focussing on the Liquid Sound label. he has DJ'd at many events, most recently alongside Youth, Pathaan, Mixmaster Morris, and Matt Black.
